Tesco is going big on summer with the launch of over 230 new own-label lines for summer 2025 including ready meals, barbecue and picky bits.
New additions span everything from wood-fired pizzas and premium gelato to Greek-style dips and plant-led mains under the Root & Soul brand. Despite the demise of its deli counters, it’s investing heavily in the category as the value hit £1.2bn when counting mezze, pickles, Mediterranean items and dips, and its value is up 5.6% [Kantar 52 w/e 23 February 2025], according to The Grocer’s deli category report.
With BBQ searches on Tesco.com up 62% year on year, the retailer has also expanded its Fire Pit lineup, including new Shawarma Chicken Sizzlers and Jumbo Cheesy BBQ Sausages. Meanwhile, the premium Tesco Finest ready meal range takes cues from Italy and Greece with truffle-stuffed pasta, slow-cooked pork kebabs and whipped feta salads aimed at relaxed summer entertaining.
