M&S has extended its trial of scratch cook ingredient meal kits to 50 stores.

The In the Bag concept first launched in six stores in February.

It is now being tested in selected out of town and larger city centre M&S locations, including Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, following positive customer feedback.

Designed to serve two people, the £8 range comprises five recipes including creamy porcini sirloin steak, truffled pesto chicken traybake and crispy pan-fried tofu with coconut lentil dahl.

Each pack is served in net packaging and contains a recipe card.

“Our aim is to be more relevant, more often to our customers with increasingly busy lifestyles and we want to offer quick and easy evening meal solutions,” said an M&S spokeswoman.
