Ranks Hovis McDougall has announced the management board for its consumer brands unit, which will be headed by chief operating officer Peter Baker. It is one of three divisions set up after a major restructure last year.
Joining him on the board will be Patrick Irving, who will move from managing director of Centura Foods to take over Baker's former role as managing director of Manor Bakeries at the beginning of March. He takes overall responsibility for brands such as Mr Kipling and Cadbury cakes.
RHM director of group communications Ginny Knox will become MD of Centura Foods, managing brands such as Bisto and Sharwood's. Howell David, the fourth member of the board, has become HR director and a member of both Manor Bakeries' and Centura Foods' executive committees. He was HR director for Centura Foods. Baker said: "This brings together a strong management team to take the RHM consumer brands division forward."
The announcement follows last month's departure of chairman and chief executive Paul Wilkinson (The Grocer, January 25, p19).
Wilkinson's resignation followed owner Doughty Hanson's decision to postpone seeking a listing on the London Stock Exchange. He was replaced by Ian McMahon, who also remains chief operating officer of the customer solutions division until a replacement is found.
