nectar price

Sainsbury’s has applied a ‘Nectar Price’ discount to hundreds of products in selected stores and online.

The discount has been rolled out to lines of own brand fresh fruit & vegetables, selected Taste the Difference meals and a wide range of branded items. Shelf-edge price labels of discounted products have been given a purple border, which denotes the ‘Nectar Price’.

Nectar users scan their card or mobile app as they normally would, and the discounts are applied at the checkout. Purchasing discounted items still adds to a shopper’s running points total.

“We are always looking for new ways to reward our customers while offering quality, choice and value,” said Sainsbury’s chief marketing officer Mark Given.

“Nectar Prices will be available for a limited time only so customers will need to be quick to get the best deals on hundreds of items they buy every day, while giving their points balance a boost,” Given added.

Among the discounts available are 10p off Warburtons Sandwich Thins, 50p off Taste the Difference 120g Yorkshire ham and £1.30 off a bottle of Brancott Estate Sauvignon Blanc. The full range of Nectar Prices is listed in the app.

The new promotion launched today and runs until March 3. It excludes the supermarket’s mobile scan, pay and go app SmartShop and one-hour delivery service Chop Chop.

The Nectar scheme is the biggest loyalty programme in the UK, with more than 18 million users. More than two million of them use the mobile app.
