Milk & More

Dairy Crest has admitted the future of its depot in Horsham, West Sussex, is under review after it was listed for sale with a local estate agency - raising further questions about its Milk & More service.

The 0.41-acre site near the centre of the town went on the market on 15 November at a price of £1.15m, and had already attracted a number of enquiries, said estate agent Matthews & Goodman.

Dairy Crest said the processor was “in the process of reviewing options concerning our property in Horsham.”

Dairy Crest is set to offload its dairies operation - including the Milk & More doorstep delivery service - to Müller Wiseman in an £80m deal. Müller UK & Ireland CEO Ronald Kers said Milk & More was a “key part” of the business.

“We are running Milk & More as normal until we receive competition approval for the sale,” said Dairy Crest. The depot review was part of a regular process to keep up with a 10% year-on-year decline in doorstep deliveries, it added.

“We remain committed to providing a doorstep delivery service to customers in the Horsham area. Whatever option we decide on, the service will remain unaffected.”
