Tesco’s One Stop chain has announced the closure of three of its stores in Lincolnshire.
The stores to close are in Horncastle, Kirton Lindsey and Lincoln.
Sources at the retailer stressed the decision was part of the regular reviews it takes on the viability of its stores, not part of any wider review.
Last year Tesco shuttered 15 One Stop stores and opened 11.
The Grocer understands staff at the stores were told in the past few days about the closures.
A One Stop spokeswoman said: “We can confirm that we have taken the difficult decision to close a small number of stores.
“We don’t take these decisions lightly and our priority now is to support colleagues affected at this difficult time. Wherever possible, we will offer them alternative roles with One Stop.”
