Tesco’s fresh whole turkeys are on sale from today, priced at £5/kg, or £4/kg with a Clubcard.

Fresh turkey crowns have arrived in stores at £9/kg, or £8.50/kg with a Clubcard.

Tesco has also followed Aldi and Lidl by selling festive veg for 19p.

Get all five veg (95p), a 2.5kg whole turkey (£10) and 12 pigs in blankets (£2.50), and it amounts to Christmas dinner for five for a total of £13.45, or £2.69 a head, according to Tesco.

“This year, household budgets are under more pressure than ever and so we are absolutely committed to helping our customers with the cost of the Christmas shop,” said Tesco UK & ROI CEO Jason Tarry.

“Hundreds of thousands of fresh turkeys will be arriving in store and we have some unmissable deals, starting from just £4/kg with a Clubcard. Together with our festive five veg, that means you can pick up everything you need for a great-value Christmas dinner at Tesco.”
