I was interested in trying this product because I am already a big fan of both the red and white versions available within the Jacob’s Creek range.

The Rosé offering looks very inviting with its light red colour and looks especially appealing when it comes out of the fridge and there is condensation on the bottle.

The taste does not let it down. It has a clean and refreshing taste with a slight hint of strawberry flavour. Perfect drink for a nice summer evening or with a light meal at any time of the year.

After tasting Jacob’s Creek Rosé I would definitely buy it again - I may even choose it over white. It is easy to drink and at £5.79 a bottle it is reasonably priced.

Buyer’s verdict

Jacob’s Creek Shiraz Rosé is the latest addition to the well established range of Australian wines marketed in the UK by Pernod Ricard.

The rosé sector of the wine market is enjoying a period of growth thanks in the main to the popularity of the white Zinfandels and white Grenache of California.

The presentation is similar to the other wines in the Jacob’s Creek range. The wine itself has a pleasant fruity aroma. The taste, although quite pleasant, was a little disappointing for me, but served well chilled it is an easy drinking wine ideal for hot summer afternoons with white meat or fish. With the backing of the Jacob’s Creek branding I think this rosé will probably sell well and become a successful addition to the range.
