The Carnival sausage aims to highlight Windrush Day, Jamaican Independence 60th Anniversary and the return of the Notting Hill Carnival

The Black Farmer has created a limited edition Carnival sausage to raise awareness of important dates in the Caribbean calendar.

The sausage (rsp: £3.50/375g six-pack), aims to highlight Windrush Day on 22 June, alongside the 60th anniversary of Jamaican independence in August and the return of the Notting Hill Carnival following the pandemic.

The sausage is made of British pork combined with mango and chilli and will be available in M&S, Ocado, Budgens, Co-op, Tesco and Asda from July to October.

“This special edition sausage not only puts these key events front of mind, but encapsulates the vibrancy of Carnival,” said Black Farmer founder Wilfred Emmanuel-Jones.

The launch is part of Emmanuel-Jones’ continued efforts to challenge the lack of diversity within the British food industry and calls for greater inclusivity within British agriculture, farming and the food industry.
