The new service is taking place at the Kendal Calling, Latitude, and Isle of Wight festivals

Co-op is launching a click & collect service at three of its festival pop-up shops this summer.

It means festivalgoers can place an order up to six weeks prior to the event and collect it at an allotted time during the festival.

The new service will be trialled at the Kendal Calling, Latitude, and Isle of Wight festivals to see how shoppers engage, it said.

More than 200 lines can be pre-ordered from Co-op’s online click & collect website, including fresh food, beers, wines, food-to-go products and drinks. Co-op’s ethical ranges – including Fairtrade lines, 100% British fresh meat ranges, plant-based products and its own-brand water that supports clean water projects in Africa – will also be available to purchase.

Customers that use the click & collect service will be able to select a time to pick up their shopping between 9am and 6pm on Thursday and Friday of the festival weekend. Collections will be made from a bespoke pick-up point at the side of the main festival store, the convenience retailer added.

“Since opening our first pop-up festival store in 2018, we’ve evolved our offering each year and this new click & collect service is another innovative way to serve the needs of these unique festival communities,” said Co-op director of marketing live and local Amanda Jennings.

“The click & collect launch at the festivals is taking Co-op convenience to the next level and will enable festival-goers to plan ahead and enhance their experience even more so.”
