Discounted booze and sweets handed Morrisons a pricing ­victory in our Halloween party special basket. Morrisons’ £79.71 basket included a More Card promotion on a sharing tub of Haribo, which lowered the price to £2.97 compared to £5 at Asda and £4 everywhere else. Its base prices for Corona Extra and Richmond sausages also undercut all rivals, including those with a price cut promo on the same SKU. Discounts totalling £9.23 pushed the price of its basket down 6% year on year and 4.1% month on month.
