Chairman of AB Foods Harold Bailey is to retire from the board next month after 23 years as a director. He will be replaced by Martin Adamson.
Bailey said: "I feel it is the appropriate time to step down and I have notified the board that I intend to retire immediately after the annual general meeting on December 5.
"My successor as chairman will be Martin Adamson, a fellow board member who will bring to the role a wealth of business experience and a breadth of knowledge of the company's activities.
"I wish him and my colleagues every success in the years ahead."
Bailey took over the chairman's role from Garry Weston who died in February.
Adamson has been a non-executive director of AB Foods since October 1999.
