Keep Britain Tidy is encouraging independent retailers to promote its latest campaign against food litter.

The environmental group is repeating its 2002 campaign, which encouraged people to dispose of their food litter responsibly, so as not to contribute to an increase in the rat population.

It is asking Association of Convenience Stores' members to display posters in store windows. It has also linked up with the National Association of Master Bakers.
