Frozen ready meals retailer Cook is axing all its loyalty cards after trying to run three schemes at once.

Writing in the company's newsletter, co-founder Edward Perry admitted the schemes were to be scrapped because they were costing the business an "unaffordable amount".

Cook first launched a scheme where customers could collect stamps that entitled them to a discount. This was followed by the Crunch Card and the Christmas Card, which both offered discounts.

"We have gone about all of this in a slightly haphazard manner," Perry said.
