French food giant Danone has bought the McKesson Water Products Co for $1.1bn in cash. McKesson is the third largest seller of bottled water in the US, with a turnover of more than $380m last year. It did not fit into the core structure in the McKesson corporate empire  best known for its drugs and pharmeceutical products. Danone already owns the Evian and Dannon Natural Spring Water brands in the US, but can now add Sparkletts, Alhambra and Crystal to its range. Danone interests include dairy products and cakes, as well as bottled water. It is part of the Franco-British team  Finalrealm  that is bidding to take over United Biscuits. {{NEWS }}
