Andrew Baker, chief executive of Duchy Originals, has joined the board of North Highland Products, the company behind the Mey Selections brand.

Baker has taken up the role of non-executive director and spends time working on the brand every two weeks. He claimed he was still "very much CEO of Duchy Originals", adding that his experience as chief executive of Duchy and working with small-scale producers stood him in good stead for his new role.

"I hope that in the next few months I'll help to develop a strategy for overall growth," he said.

The announcement follows the news in September that Duchy Originals was to be licensed out to Waitrose. Since the deal, Baker has been given an office in the Prince of Wales' official residence, Clarence House, while all other Duchy staff are transferring to Waitrose's head office in Bracknell.
