The Focus on Distribution Initiative reached a milestone this week when the UK's 56,000 news retailers began receiving delivery times from their wholesalers. FODI was set up 18 months ago with cross-industry support to try and sort out one of the newstrade's longstanding concerns  late delivery. Over the next month, news retailers will be sent either a Retailer Delivery Time (RDT) or Scheduled Delivery Time (SDT). RDTs have been sent to retailers if the wholesaler agrees to the times they requested. Retailers will receive SDTs if the wholesaler believes it is impossible to meet the requested schedule, informing them of the delivery times the supplier will apply until further notice. FODI pledged to make its next priority the conversion of as many SDTs as possible to RDTs. {{NEWS }}
