Have you ever felt you were battling against all odds to sell your products around the world? But despite that, have you persevered and built up your export business? If the answer to both questions is yes', then it's about time your efforts were recognised. So why not enter the Food from Britain and HSBC Export Awards 2000, held in association with The Grocer? Last year's overall winner, Walkers Shortbread, exports its products to countries as far apart as Germany and Guam. Exports now account for 45% of its turnover and it has increased this side of its business by 15% over the past three years. That level of commitment made Walkers a worthy winner of the title Food and Drink Exporter of the Year. To enter the 2000 awards, you must first complete a short form in which you will have to provide details of your company's export strategy over the past three years. There are seven categories to enter: new exporter of the year; cereal based exporter of the year; red meat exporter; frozen and chilled exporter of the year; drink exporter of the year; potato exporter of the year; and general grocery exporter of the year. And from winners of these categories one company will be voted Food and Drink Exporter of the Year. The awards will be presented at a special lunch held at the Intercontinental on Park Lane in London on December 6. For an entry form call Fiona Pyne on 020 7468 8581. {{NEWS }}
