Hot Shot by name, hot shot by nature! At least, that appeared to be the order of the day at stand F128 where Hot Shot Beverages was generating a flurry of interest with its new range of heated canned drinks.
The company was attending CRS with the promise that it had 10,000 heating units to give away to the first retailers to sign up to the concept which has been a success in Japan.
Rashad Hussain, head of marketing at Essex-based Hot Shot, said: "We have had a tremendous response at the show, not only from independent retailers but also from buyers representing multiple retailers. There has even been an inquiry from a French visitor."
The range of six drinks, which are manufactured in Taiwan, include black and white tea and coffee variants and hot chocolate. The cans are warmed in a custom-built heating unit. Rashad said the cost to the retailer worked out at 48p a can plus VAT with an rsp of 99p.
