Convenience foods producer Greencore Group has promoted Kevin Moore to the position of managing director for its prepared foods category.
Moore, who has been at Greencore Group for six years, was previously commercial director for the category.
Greencore said that during this time Moore had successfully established a number of significant new accounts and brand programmes. He has also achieved sales growth of 40% during the past two years.
Prior to Greencore, Moore worked for the Co-operative Retail Society and Sainsbury.
He replaces Mike Hodgson
who has left Greencore after three years to start up his own business in a different industry.
A spokesman for Greencore said that in his new role Moore would lead the prepared meals team, assuming responsibility for the overall running and development of the category.
The prepared foods category produces chilled quiche and savoury flans, chilled ready meals and Sutherland chilled meat spreads, supplying supermarkets and c-stores.
It has recently added a further production line to its specialist bakery at Kiveton near Sheffield.
Moore said: “I am delighted to be leading the team, of which I have been part for a number of years, and will be looking to work closely with our customers to ensure we take advantage of the new opportunities arising in quiches and chilled meals.”
Peter Hough has been appointed president of the Confectioners Benevolent Fund, replacing Vivienne Cracknell. Hough is business development director for sugar products supplier Napier Brown Foods. He has worked in the sugar sector for more than 25 years with roles at Unilever, Tate & Lyle and Thomas Sugar Merchants.

Wine and spirits company Jim Beam Brands Worldwide has appointed Ian Gourlay senior vice president for operations and supply chain. Gourlay was previously senior VP of global operations for Allied Domecq.

Branded Drinks, which supplies Tesco with local beers, has promoted Gray Olliver to sales and marketing director. Olliver joined in 2003, when the group took over the Wessex Craft Brewers bottling line of which he was MD. He replaces Mike Roff, who is retiring.
