Shares in ice cream manufacturer Hill Station were suspended yesterday after it announced it was in talks to avert a financial crisis.

The company, which acquired rival ice cream firms Loseley Dairy Ice Cream and Granelli McDermott last November, said in a trading update last month that additional funding from bankers had failed to materialise.

“The directors believe that successful completion of these financing arrangements should provide the company with the financing needed to meet its anticipated requirements,” the company said in a statement.
