Household cleaning products group Jeyes has announced the first in a series of planned acquisitions.

The Norfolk-based company, which owns brands like Parazone, Bloo and Jeyes Fluid, bought Power & Liquid Products (PLP) for an undisclosed sum this week.

Chairman Roger Burdett said the purchase was part of the company's growth strategy following a period of restructure.

"We plan to grow by purchasing brands that can sit next to Jeyes in the household sector," he said.

PLP owns budget brand Easy but Burdett said it wasn't part of the company's strategy to go exclusively for cheaper labels. "There are a couple of further acquisitions under discussion at the moment and they are more premium ranges," he said.

The company has also been investing heavily in new product development in a bid to grow the business and aims to launch four to five products each year, Burdett confirmed.
