Johal Dairies will have the chance to clear its name in the Court of Appeal over a High Court judgment against it.

In June the High Court concluded Johal had acted unlawfully in paying an illegal immigrant to steal information from rival JN Dairies, which it then used to procure new customers.

However Johal has now been given leave to appeal at a date likely to be next spring. "By granting permission at the oral hearing, the Court of Appeal has, in effect, agreed that there is indeed a real prospect of Johal succeeding in its appeal," said Johal's solicitors.
