Kyndal has said it intends to return excitement to the spirits fixture with two launches.
The Scottish firm said a new white spirit and a liqueur should enliven the supermarkets' shelves next year, although marketing director Glen Gribbon would give away little else about the drinks except to confirm that the white spirit would not be vodka.
However, he hinted that Vladivar was in line for change and that Veba, Vladivar's PPS spin-off, needed a new flavour. He added that Veba was "no longer considered a priority".
Instead, Kyndal is concentrating on an April TV campaign for Whyte & Mackay whisky, which it wants to move "significantly" into the UK market.
Gribbon added: "I don't think there's anything interesting on supermarket shelves when it comes to spirits."
