Channel Islands retailer Le Riche has unveiled plans for the roll-out of its Checkers Xpress retail format in Jersey.
A total of 11 stores and three forecourts will be re-branded Checkers Xpress, including Stampers stores, Le Riche’s Bath Street store in St Helier and forecourt outlets at Five Oaks, Grouville and St Peter.
Le Riche said the rebranding followed the successful transformation of the Stampers store in St Aubin, Jersey, to Checkers Xpress one year ago.
The company will also refit rebranded stores using St Aubin as a blueprint. It begins with Le Riche’s Manor St Martin and St Peter stores in Guernsey, which are due for completion at the end of August.
Andrew Bagot, MD of Le Riche, said: “Customers have had the opportunity to experience Checkers Xpress at St Aubin and we are now committed to transforming more stores.”
Le Riche parent CI Traders is trialling a chilled drinks area in the Checkers Xpress stores in Longville, Jersey, and St Saviour, Guernsey and hopes to roll it out to other stores if successful. And it is testing rotisseries at its St Peter, Guernsey and Manor St Martin stores, with plans for roll-out.
The new-look Checkers Xpress stores will feature a collect and save reward system launched in January in revamped Guernsey Checkers Xpress stores. Some 13,000 customers use the scheme, which combines Stampers discount stamps and Le Riche’s AirMiles scheme on one card.
