PayPoint has appointed Nick Wiles as a non-executive director. Wiles is currently chairman of UK investment banking at Nomura. He has worked in banking for more than 20 years, spending most of his time at Cazenove & Co, where he was a partner.

Imperial Tobacco's trade communications manager, Iain Watkins, is moving to the manufacturer's UK corporate affairs department as UK media & public relations manager. Moving with him are media relations executive Zoe Bramham, public relations executive Neil Rooke and corporate compliance executive Louise Haines.

Ken Wilkins, UK brand ambassador for GH Mumm and Champagne Perrier-Jouët, is retiring after more than 36 years with the two houses. Neil Phillips, a former business unit director for wine at Pernod Ricard UK with more than 20 years' experience in the sector, will take over his role from 1 January following a three-month handover period.

J Wray & Nephew UK has appointed Jamie MacDonald as official ambassador for the Appleton Estate Jamaica Rum brand in the UK. MacDonald has worked as a mixologist in a number of bars across Scotland. He will be responsible for educating bar staff in areas of rum appreciation, rum and mixer balance, and the development of key new serves.

Caroline Owen, managing director of Scotsdale Garden Centre, has been named as president of the Horticultural Trades Association. She succeeds Andrew Richardson, managing director of Johnsons of Whixley. Carol Paris, operations director of the Garden & Leisure Group, has been named deputy president.
