James Parrish, who helped found Parripak Foods 17 years ago, has left the company to focus on farming.

The former commercial director told The Grocer he had helped integrate the vegetable packing and processing business with Gretna-based Solway Vegetable Peelers, which Parripak acquired earlier this year, but now needed a new challenge.

"I am extremely proud of the reputation the company has established over the years," he said. "Now, with the business going from strength to strength under our managing director Gavin McNally, is the right time for me to pursue new opportunities."

Parripak was originally founded by Nick Parrish in 1987. James joined his brother in 1991 and, with chairman Robin Allingham, formed Parripak Foods.

Part of the William Jackson Food Group, it supplies freshly processed-to-order veg, including onions, garlic, ginger and chillies.
