Thresher Group has announced a further reshuffle following its reorganisation into two business units (The Grocer, May 10, p14).
John Risman becomes chief operating officer to spearhead retail operations and consumer focus in the group's 2,000 shops. He will report directly to group chief executive David Williams.
Risman will be working with operations directors Linda Burns and Karim Shad as well as marketing director Kevin Styles.
Risman joined the company in September as head of its commercial business unit. Previous posts include MD of electrical retailer Curry's.
Steve Headington has been made development director and his responsibilities include strategic relationships with retailers and brand owners as well as evolving merchant brands, such as Origin, and franchising opportunities. David Kassler has also joined the group as head of new retail formats, assisted by Paul Kimberley.
Kassler was previously head of e-business at Bass.
His responsibilities will include managing the ongoing development of the making wine easy' store design launched last September.
He will also manage the new Stylish Singles store format which has just been launched by Thresher on a trial basis.
Williams said: "We have set a tremendous pace in putting this business back on its feet. Now is the time to raise the tempo, adopting an organisational structure geared for today's challenges."
