The packaging of this product is very kitsch which I liked. However, I thought the shape of the bottle and its navy blue colour was masculine which I found surprising because I think the drink probably appeals more to girls.
It smells strongly of coconut and reminded me of holidays and suntan lotion. I found it tasted best with a lot of ice, but I could not drink an awful lot of it because it’s far too sweet. It tasted nice at first but then soon became sickly. I’d had enough even before the end of the first glass.
Although it is sweet it does have a bit of a kick to it - I could taste the rum.
I wouldn’t choose this drink over alternatives but I could imagine it might be a fun drink to have at parties.

Mo’Bay is a smooth cream liqueur made by blending white rum, fresh cream and coconut.
Presented in a white, opaque ‘squareish’ bottle with a blue design, it is impactful and sure to attract attention on the shelf among the other liqueurs .
At 17% abv, it is much weaker, or ‘thinner’ if you like, than the Malibu option at 29% abv.
As such, although very creamy to the taste and no doubt an ideal base for Pina Coladas, or by itself over ice, it is not strong enough in flavour for my taste.
However, Mo’Bay is targeting a female audience and I am sure it will be a winner with the ladies and, offered at £9.99 for a 70cl bottle, will no doubt obtain interest and trial in the run-up to and over the Christmas period.
