Britain's speciality food producers will be out in force to tempt the tastebuds of buyers seeking interesting and unusual products to set before their customers Food from Britain is bringing 45 companies from the UK's speciality sector, hosting them in the Speciality Food from Britain pavilion located in the Retail Fair. Here, trade buyers from the multiples and independent grocers will be able to browse among the innovative, quality products on show, sampling those that catch their eye. For anyone with a sweet tooth, and a mission to expand their cake, biscuit or confectionery fixtures, Anthony Stevens is featuring a selection of hand made uniced fruit cakes while Image on Food has a range of personalised gingerbread and shortbread decorated novelty biscuits. Devonvale Bakery is launching a range of cake bars, including brownie, carrot and fruit variants, plus Fudge's Bakery is presenting its new florentines dipped in dark chocolate, as well as biscuits for cheese in new packaging, and a range of seasonal foods. Other bakery companies include Grandma Wild's Biscuits and Fosters Traditional Foods. The sweet theme is continued by BHC featuring honey, Forest Products, Miranda's Preserves and Highfield Preserves with jams and preserves. Moving into desserts, Prospero Fine Foods has a mouthwatering range of pure fruit coulis, ice cream and summer puddings, while Thayer's New England Ice Cream is presenting its Loseley and Thayers brands. Appealing to chocoholics is Linden Lady Chocolates and The House of Dorchester which makes handmade chocolates, dinner mints and truffles. Cordials and presses will be out in force. Bottle Green Drinks Co is promoting a new cranberry pressé and relaunching its pressé range in new packaging. Similarly, Belvoir Fruit Farms is featuring a new cranberry pressé which has a minimum 15% cranberry juice in every bottle, plus a cranberry cordial with 80% fruit content. A lime & lemongrass pressé is also new. Also quenching the demand for non-alcoholic drinks is James White Apple Juice & Cider Co, Prince's Gate Spring Water and Thorncroft. On a savoury note, Dew-Lay Products is introducing organic prepacked Lancashire, Double Gloucester, Red Leicester and Cheddar cheese. Other cheese producers include Quickes. Organics will be strongly featured by many exhibitors. Gordon's Fine Foods is launching organic gluten free chutneys in date and orange, and apricot and sultana flavours, plus a new mustard range in garlic, green peppercorn and horseradish variants. Pickle and chutney producer Shaws of Huddersfield is also taking the organic route with seven new flavours including an unusual seaweed chutney. Other pickle and chutney producers include Wiltshire Tracklements, Selsey Herb & Spice Co and Taylor's Speciality Foods. In the fine food area, the Country Victualler and Fat Cat Fine Food are featuring a spread of pâtés, smoked meats, puddings and quiches, while Denhay Farms is to show its bacon, gammon, hams and cheddar. Regional food group Yorkshire Pantry is bringing a number of small producers to the show to raise awareness of their products and make contact with retail buyers. Companies include smoked meat producers Manor Born and Mackenzies Smoked Products whose range includes ostrich and boar, specialist pie producer Vale of Mowbray, and bakery manufacturers Elizabeth Botham & Sons and Ridings Food. The group is also showing some interesting cheese products. Swaledale Cheese is launching a new blue cheese to add to its ewe's, goats and cows milk cheeses which include smoked, apple & mint, and chives & garlic flavour variants. And Wensleydale Dairy Products is adding an organic range to its cheeses which come in spicy, sheeps milk with apricots, and rum renriched variants. Also hailing from Yorkshire is Yorvale Ice Cream which is featuring its premium home made dairy ice cream and desserts in 21 flavours from vanilla to fig and brandy. Its fruit and liquor flavoured sorbets and gateaux can be sampled on its stand along with a new range of cream desserts.
