A novel concept from Babylicious Ltd is a frozen meal range for babies up to one year old. Called Tastylicious, the range includes 500g packs of small individual portions of organic fruit and vegetable purées, organic vegetable recipes and traditional meals such as cottage pie and Lancashire hotpot, which can be microwaved or heated conventionally. l Patak's has entered the frozen pizza market with the first naan based pizza. Research showed that consumers were using naan bread instead of regular bases to make pizzas at home. Two toppings are being offered ­ chicken tikka masala and chicken balti ­ on a crispy naan bread base. The pizza can be microwaved in five minutes or oven baked in 20 minutes. l A new departure for leading pie and pasty maker Freshbake is the promise of a hot savoury pie in less than five minutes. Microwaveable straight from the freezer, the six-strong Microbake range is gaining ground in the frozen pie sector. From its March launch, sales have reached £750,000 with Asda, Iceland and Morrisons accounting for 75% of all sales [TNS Superpanel]. l McCain's latest development is Rosti, an alternative potato accompaniment. This traditional Swiss style recipe is made from 100% grated potato. l Cherry Valley Farms has invested £11m in its processing facilities at Caistor, Lincolnshire, where frozen whole, portioned and value added poultry products are produced. A range of easy-to-cook frozen duck products has been designed.
