Unilever Bestfoods is selling off its Crisp ‘n Dry, Mazola, Cookeen and Spry Crisp ‘n Dry oils and cooking fats in the UK and the Republic of Ireland.
The move is part of Unilever’s Path to Growth strategy to focus on core brands. The company is also offering a restricted licence to manufacture and sell existing Flora and Olivio oils.
However, it said it would retain ownership of White Flora cooking fats and Flora and Bertolli (formerly Olivio) spreads. The combined sales of the brands being put up for sale and offered for licence is £31m. Unilever Bestfoods emphasised no employees would need to transfer to new owners.
It added that any employment impact at its Purfleet factory would be minor and will be managed through normal staff turnover.
The businesses will be run as usual during the sale process.
