Walkers is hoping to spook consumers this Hallowe’en with a range of scary snacks.
Quavers Ghosts and Monster Munch Spooky Tongue limited edition snacks are being re-introduced after sales success in the previous few years.
The company is hoping to cash in on the growing UK Hallowe’en market, which it said is increasing by 25% in value year-on-year, with 41% of Brits planning on hosting a Hallowe’en party this year.
“With the UK Hallowe’en market growing at such a strong rate, our limited-edition snacks have been reintroduced to provide additional sales opportunities created by this trend,” said PepsiCo trade marketing manager Nicky Seal.
Walkers predicts the beastly
bites will drum up £45m worth of sales.
Available now until October 31, the cheese-flavoured Quavers Ghosts come in 20g bags while pickled onion flavour Monster Munch Spooky Tongue (25g) contains a food colouring that turns tongues blue. Both come with an rsp of 28p per bag.
A limited edition Hallowe’en 10-pack will also be available containing five packs of each product (rsp: £1.89).
The company said Britain looked set to follow in the footsteps of the US, where each household spends an average of $44 on Hallowe’en.
