Pub group Wetherspoon is to match or undercut prices at Sainsbury’s on products such as Guinness and Red Bull as part of its festive marketing campaign at its 616-strong estate.

From Monday, November 11 the company will charge £1.69 for a pint of Guinness compared to £1.85 at Sainsbury’s - the equivalent pint price of four 330ml cans at £4.29, the group said.

Energy drink Red Bull will be 5p cheaper at 90p, while PPS Red Square will cost £1.29, 10p less than at the supermarket chain.
