The Federation of Wholesale Distributors has launched a Future Leaders Forum, with the aim of developing emerging talent in the wholesale sector.

The networking scheme, which is made up of 30 individuals aged 30 and under from suppliers, wholesalers and service providers, had its first meeting last week.

The FWD said the scheme aimed to inspire, retain and nurture those with potential to become future industry leaders.

The group’s first meeting featured talks from Bidcorp CEO Andrew Selley, and former Booker CEO Charles Wilson about their own career journeys.

The FLF is proving to be a hugely positive environment to be involved with,” said JTI account executive and FLF member Foave Aggar. “Already we have been given the opportunity to listen to and interact with successful CEOs, offering an insight into their journey and providing inspiration and motivation on how to succeed.

“I am looking forward to being further involved with a forum which encourages personal and professional growth through networking and knowledge sharing with likeminded people.”

FWD head of engagement Lyndsey Cambridge said: “This is a really exciting development for FWD. The Future Leaders Forum adds to the main FWD council and supplier council, increasing the amount of engagement we have with members across a far wider range of roles, responsibilities and seniority.

“We have been delighted at how much interest there is in such a forum.”
