JJ Foodservice has announced the launch of ‘Save Big Wednesdays’, a deal that offers discounts to online customers who place orders for collection. The weekly deal will see customers offered savings of 20% on popular products.

This latest promotional offer is part of a wider strategy to make collecting goods more desirable for customers. JJ Foodservice already offers a discount of 15% on orders that are collected by customers.

In July, the company offered further savings to customers who collect when it announced that it had dropped prices by up to 30% as part of its ‘collect and save’ campaign. The move was aimed at reducing pressure on deliveries that had been affected by the HGV driver shortage.

“The cost of living is the highest it’s been in 30 years so we are looking at ways we can help our customers to make even better savings,” said chief product officer Sezer Ozkul.

This week, the campaign will see consumers offered savings on fresh loose tomatoes, down to £6.99 for 6kg compared with the usual price of £8.99.

The discounts are valid for one day from 6am to 6pm across the company’s 11 branches.

Last week the foodservice wholesaler was placed at 17 in The Griocer’s Big 30 ranking of the UK’s biggest wholesalers.
