Lomond The Wholesale Food Co has launched an own label cooked meats range which will replace the business’ previous supplier.
The new range, which has just launched, includes various sliced cooked meats and joints such as sliced topside beef, sliced honey-glazed gammon and pulled smoked ham hock.
It follows the success of the wholesaler’s annual trade show, where 50% of products consisted of local Scottish produce.
The company said the response to the local offering was so strong that it warranted the creation of a dedicated Scottish produce guide featuring 69 different producers.
“We have spent the past six months creating this range with our Scottish manufacturing partner to deliver a heightened-quality product at a Lomond best price,” said Lomond director Barbara Henderson.
“This decision reflects our strategy to deliver top-quality locally sourced products and our reputation means our customers recognise that a Lomond product will deliver the best quality, value pricing and truly excellent service.”
