School caterer Olive Dining has partnered with Olio to share surplus meals with local people.
The partnership will see leftovers from schools in south east London distributed to communities via the Olio app.
As part of the new scheme, app users can request the surplus meals for free, and collect them from a convenient location with the help of Olio’s ‘food waste hero’ volunteers.
The rollout follows a successful trial in select schools earlier this year, which saw 171 meals redistributed among 59 local families.
Olive Dining plans to launch Olio into most of its south east London secondary schools by the end of this year.
