The London International Wine & Spirit Fair opened yesterday at the ExCel Exhibition Centre in its 25th anniversary year.

Since the first of these Fairs in 1981, the amount of exhibitors has grown from 60 to approximately 1,300. Additionally, about 17,000 visitors are expected to attend the three-day event, which concludes tomorrow.

Adrian McKeon, managing director of Allied Domecq Wine UK, said: “In its 25th anniversary year, it is expected to be bigger and better than ever and it has been a pleasure and a privilege for me to chair the Advisory Board.”

In addition to the many exhibitors from all around the world, the event also includes seminars for the off and the on-trade. These include: The legislation Debate, looking at impending legislation and its effects on the on and off-trade, and also The Closure Debate - One Year On.
