Yorkshire Crisps has won a deal to supply 17 Sainsbury's stores across the region.

Bags of its newest variant, Henderson’s Yorkshire Sauce, and its Natural Sea Salt flavour, are now available (rsp: 80p per 50g bag).

The crisps, which already have listings in The Co-operative Group and Morrisons stores, are being delivered direct to stores to keep food miles low.

Managing director Tony Bishop said the company’s ongoing commitment to working with local businesses meant it would continue to be discerning about who it supplied.

“We are impressed with the Sainsbury's enthusiasm for supporting local suppliers,” said Bishop. “It has even shrunk the space reserved for a national crisp brand to make way for Yorkshire Crisps.”

Sainsbury's crisp buyer Sally Davies said the deal signified “great commitment to the region on both sides”.
