A phishing scam has set out to target Tesco customers with a fake reward offer.

A message has been sent to many Tesco customers tell them they can “collect a £150 reward” after being selected to take part in a customer satisfaction survey.

Claiming to be sent from Tesco Rewards, the message asks customers to provide their credit or debit card details to claim the money.

“Yet again we see another phish with recipients being told that they will get £150 for filling in a satisfaction survey about Tesco,” says website myonlinesecurity.co.uk. “You won’t get any money. What will happen is that the phishers will empty your bank account or credit card when they use the details you give them.”

A spokesman for Tesco said: “This is a phishing attempt and is not associated with Tesco. To help keep our customers safe we have successfully requested that the website mentioned in the email is taken offline.”
