Poundland is set to join forces with baking entrepreneur and actress Jane Asher to launch an exclusive bakeware collection in spring 2014.
Poundland claims the link-up will make it the first ever UK discounter to launch a celebrity line. The collection will be sold across Poundland’s 490 shops in the UK and Ireland, with the range also including multipacks, such as three wooden spoons - all for £1.
“We’re very proud that we’re the first discount retailer to launch a celebrity range and very excited to be working with Jane Asher,” said Poundland CEO Jim McCarthy.
“We’re extremely pleased to be offering our customers an affordable entry point into the hugely popular home-baking trend, which now sees one in seven Brits baking more than twice a week. For well under £10 they will be ready to bake with Poundland – and we’re confident that combining the excitement of a bargain with the enthusiasm of baking is going to be a recipe for success!”
Jane Asher opened her baking shop in Chelsea in 1990 and has since published a number of books and developed a range of baking accessories.
