Anheuser-Busch InBev has completed the sale of InBev’s US business, including the US rights to Canadian lager brand Labatt.

The sale, to private equity group KPS Capital Partners for an undisclosed sum, had been a requirement of regulators to pass the landmark $52bn merger between Anheuser-Busch and InBev last year.

The deal sees US rights to Labatts pass to the newly formed KPS subsidiary North American Breweries, which has also acquired New York’s High Falls Brewing Company.

Labatt Brewing Corp in Canada will supply the new business for a three-year transitional period.

“We intend to continue to grow North American Breweries aggressively, both organically and through acquisition of new brands and exceptional breweries,” said KPS partner Raquel Palmer.
