Free-from specialist Dietary Specials is introducing a Cornish pasty into Asda to capitalise on the gluten-free market.
The pasties will arrive in stores later this month (rsp: £2.99 for two).
Retail brand manager Emma Herring said the move was prompted by demand from dairy and wheat intolerant consumers for more convenient and filling meal solutions.
"The gluten and wheat-free frozen sector is growing rapidly and retailers are responding quickly," she said. This month also sees Tesco launching a frozen Free From category, with six key favourites.
