William Chase, the founder of Tyrrells and Chase Distillery potato vodka, is looking to put in a bid to restart the production of Malvern Water.

Coca-Cola closed its Worcestershire-based bottling plant in October, saying the site was too small to be economically viable and the brand could not compete on price with rival bottled waters.

Chase has reportedly hired advisors BDO to approach Coca-Cola about buying the plant and the Queen’s favourite mineral water brand.

“It's a good example of a fantastic brand that's been corporatised and killed by the big guys. It needs reinventing. It's got its pedigree, it's got its heritage, it just needs to be made a bit more sexy again,” he told The Independent.
