DBC Foodservice has hired Tony Rowlands, the former managing director of foodservice for Loxtonfoodco, as its new sales director.

Rowlands has 34 years of experience in the catering and food industry. He began his career as a chef in the Royal Navy and then moved on to management positions in the restaurant, bar and foodservice sector. He expanded the Individual Restaurant Company's Piccolino and Bar & Grill brands from four to 33 sites and was a food development manager for Mitchells & Butlers and Greene King.

"I have a real passion for food and look forward to using my experience from many sectors of the food industry to further enhance DBC's offering," he said.

"DBC is well-known for its quality of product, service and operational excellence and I will work closely with my new team to ensure our customers continue to receive a first-rate, one-stop-shop service."
