Sainsbury’s has launched a major advertising campaign telling shoppers they can feed a family of four for an entire week for just £50.

Three-page colour adverts today appear in papers including The Daily Telegraph and The Times, in a renewed bid by the supermarket to push its value credentials.

They feature a seven-day meal planner outlining recipes for breakfast, lunch and dinner for a family of four. Featured evening meals include spaghetti with meatballs, bacon and butterbean hotpot and salmon pasta with broccoli.

The accompanying slogan reads: ‘Four people. One week. Only £50. How good is that?’

Earlier this year Sainsbury’s ran a push offering five family meals for £20, having debuted its Feed Your Family for a Fiver deal in March 2008. And last week The Grocer revealed that Sainsbury’s has also increased the number of promotions in-store more than any other supermarket over the past month.
