Birds Eye Wall's has recalled some of its Potato Product range after a contamination scare.
The products could contain metal fragments because of a machine malfunction during the production process. Birds Eye recommended retailers take all potentially affected packs off shelves immediately. It also issued a media statement and took out ads in national papers
The scare focuses on Birds Eye Potato Waffles four and 12 packs, Crispy Potato Fritters 340g and 900g, ,and Alphabites 340g and 680g with best before dates 02/2002 or 03/2002.
New stock will be available from November 20.
Sales director Tony Pearce said BEW had acted quickly to ensure risk was minimised.
