Aunt Bessie’s is expanding into chilled pies with a range produced under licence by Pork Farms.
In Morrisons now, the line-up comprises 390g steak & ale and chicken & vegetable oval pies (rsp: £2.99), and a 380g minced beef & vegetable lattice bar (rsp: £2.49).
Best known for its frozen lines such as veg and Yorkshire puds, the £207m Aunt Bessie’s brand includes ambient lines like gravy and crumble mixes. “We have developed a consumer proposition outside frozen foods with our ambient ranges and this is an opportunity to extend further,” said commercial director James Turton.
Other Pork Farms licensed lines include The Happy Egg Co quiche and Branston pies.
