Dunnes Stores is recalling its own brand deli filler

Irish retailer Dunnes Stores is recalling its own brand deli filler amid fears of listeria contamination.

Symptoms caused by the listeria monocytogenes organism are similar to flu and include high temperature, muscle aches and pains, chills, sickness and diarrhoea.

“Wonderfoods is recalling certain batches of Dunnes Stores chicken, bacon and sweetcorn deli filler due to the presence of listeria monocytogenes,” said the recall notice.

“We advise anyone who has purchased any of the above affected use-by dates of this product not to consume them and to return the product to store of purchase for a full refund. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”

The recall affects batches with sell-by dates from 13 to 20 April, but no other products are thought to be affected.
